Background
In 2023, the ICPC Educational Department, spearheaded by our Imams, began assessing and reforming our academic output to have a solid structure and to secure tangible growth in our Youth Education. The first milestone was reforming our Hafith Program. The success of Hafith was our proof of concept to follow through in completing the vision for Ihsan Academy; a full-fledged academic and Tarbiyah-based ecosystem that suffices the spiritual and intellectual needs of youth and adults in our community. After much deliberation, reflection and strategic planning, we have restructured Ihsan Academy to include one central offering that caters to all students, “Ihsan Foundations”, which focuses on Muslim character and identity, and a few specialized tracks of study. By doing so, we seek to ensure that all those who join Ihsan Academy nurture a strong Muslim identity centered on loving Islam and committing to its teachings. For this reason, we have centralized Ihsan Foundations as the launchpad for the specialty tracks.
How Ihsan Academy Works
Focusing on building muslim character and identity, all students will be enrolled in Ihsan Foundations regardless of their specialty track. It includes study circles offered by our Mashayikh and a rotating group of brothers and sisters.
Our objective is to refine our students’ behavior and interactions while elevating their outlook.
ICPC has also partnered with professional instructors to use the remainder of the program time for structured activities. Structured activities will include Art, STEM, Martial Arts and Soccer/Basketball (weather permitting).

Nooraniya + Foundations
The Nooraniya Course is a prerequisite for joining the Hafith Track and has a maximum duration of one academic year.
The Fall and Spring Semesters are dedicated to completing and mastering the book’s 17 lessons. Students at this level become familiar with Arabic letters, vowel markings, and the fundamentals of connecting letters to form words. They are also introduced to basic Tajweed concepts.
The most effective approach to Qur’anic memorization begins by giving students independent access to the Qur’an through mastery of recitation. Nooraniya serves as a critical first step in building that foundation.
Although memorization is secondary at this level, students are expected to memorize at least half of the 30th Juz.
Assessments will be administered at the end of each semester to certify that students have mastered the course content.
Scheduling
The Nooraniya Course is available at both ICPC Paterson and ICPC Clifton. All courses meet a minimum of two days per week.
Students are expected to attend both days consistently to keep up with the progress of their class.

Weekend hours: 9:30 AM–2:30 PM
Weekday hours: 5:30–7:30 PM

During the last three academic years, we have piloted several changes to the Hafith Study Track to provide a more focused and goal-oriented learning environment.
The objective of this program is to provide students with an opportunity to master the recitation and memorization of the Qur’an. The Qur’an journey that we have developed for our students is detailed below.
Hafith Learning Journey
Tarteel Level 1 — 2 Years
This is the entry level for Qur’anic reading and is designed for graduates of Nooraniya.
The teacher will guide students in building their reading proficiency by sounding out the words (Tahajji) of the 29th and 30th Juz. The goal is to develop basic reading proficiency and reinforce foundational Tajweed skills.
Students at this level will also be required to memorize the 29th and 30th Juz.
Tarteel Level 2 — 2 Years
The goal of this level is to build reading proficiency so that students become fluent in their recitation without apparent Tajweed errors (Lahn Jali).
Students will also be required to complete the memorization of the 28th, 27th, and 26th Juz.
Memorization Level 1 — 2 Years
Similar to Tarteel, this level features assisted memorization. Teachers will actively help students memorize the Surahs.
Tajweed rules will be explained in greater detail, and students will be guided in correcting subtle recitation errors (Lahn Khafi).
Students will also be required to complete five additional Juz, from the 20th through the 25th Juz.
Memorization Level 2 — 3 Years
At this stage in their Qur’an journey, students are prepared for independent memorization under the mentorship of their teacher.
The teacher will monitor each student’s individual progress and provide regular assessments upon the completion of each Surah and Juz.
A customized plan will be developed for each student that includes new memorization, recent review, and old review. Students complete this level when they have memorized the entire Qur’an.
Scheduling
Hafith students may customize their memorization schedule by choosing Saturday or Sunday, plus two to four weekdays.
For the best results, we strongly recommend registering for four weekdays. This provides students with the best opportunity to develop strong memorization and meet the projected duration of each level.
Weekend hours: 9:30 AM–2:30 PM
Weekday hours: 5:30–7:30 PM
Tuition: $250 per month, including Hafith and Ihsan Foundations
